It's been an interesting and busy week for me this week! I worked last Sunday - Tuesday nights which is Always interesting! On Wednesday, I made some cards for Hubby's Lodge (LOL! I never thought I'd "grow up" to be one of those women who's husband went to "Lodge"). Thursday I headed up to the "Mountian" for a visit with the folks and took Daddy to decorate his Daddy's grave Waaaay up in the wilds of DeKalb County. It was a great time to get caught up with Daddy and got to hear a few of his stories again. Friday morning was spent with Mama cleaning the teapots in one of her china cabinets then off to Lunch with Mary and Shan at the Yum Yum Tree... I've not eaten there in nearly 20 years! It was just as good as I remember! Then Home for dinner with Hubby and a little house work. Saturday, I got my hair all curly again... It was long over due! Now it's all bouncy and SHORT, well for me anyway! Last night it was time for some fun with a few buddies out at Zamora for some Roller Derby Action! Tragic City Rollers had a great bout with the girls from PCB! Those beach girls were Tough but our girls pulled out a 20+ point lead win! WOOHOOO! Finally today, I got to just hang out at home and be lazy, well, mostly... I did get some laundry done, and I've got some packing to do. After a morning of teaching CPR for me and a filling for Bill, we're heading off to Philadelphia, MS for a little fun at the Silver Star, and for Bill to meet up with one of his best buddies from High School. Now, that doesn't sound so strange except that they went to High School in Northeastern Wisconsin! Go figure! It should prove to be an interesting trip to say the least! I've met a few of his High School friends before and they were a hoot. Tom won't let me down, I just know it! LOL! All this, and home just in time to get the house and laundry done again before heading back to work on Thursday night. WHEW!
So, How has YOUR Week Been????
Hugs!

Charm
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Happenings
Look Jerri! I'm Updating!!! :)
Quite a lot has been happening in my inky little world lately and I've been remiss on blogging it! Oooh! Bad Blogger! So here's the story...
First and foremost, Daddy's doing very well since his "broke back" episode. I'm still thanking God Everyday for making someone smart enough to invent Kyphoplasty! It's really been a life saver for him! Since the weather has started to really warm up, he's getting out and about more and is beginning to get back into the swing of life as he knew it.
Business is finally starting to pick up in the Baby Birthing world so work is back to it's hectic self. Just the way I like it! I tell ya... I get some Fierce kind of Bored during the down times!
Bill's truck finally coughed up a hairball and quit on him so we now have a New Car. He opted for compact and gas efficient this time so we went with a Ford Focus in a lovely shade of gray. He's such a proud papa with his little car! He gave it three baths within the first week we had it! LOL! Now if I could get him to do the same for MY car!
I've found FaceBook. Ya'll, I'm addicted! I wish that someone would have told me before I signed up that Facebook would suck your soul out through your eyeballs like it does! I feel like such a stalker! BUT... I have connected with several old friends from High School, and some old work friends that I've not heard from in Years! I got to have lunch with one of the old work friends, and spent a few hours reconnecting with my Best Friend from High School and her family. It just made my heart soar! In a couple of weeks Bill and I are heading over to Mississippi for a long overdue night away and Bill is going to be spending some time with one of his Best Buds from High School. So, if you aren't my friend already, come find me on Facebook! Oh... and join my Vampire Clan while you're at it! LOL!
Last weekend was my and Jerri's first Croppin' Chickadees Retreat. It was Such a BLAST!!! We didn't have quite as many people as we were originally hoping for, but the girls that were there certainly made up for it! We had some new folks to add to our scrapbooking circle of friends, we had cool Carnival food (Funnelcakes for Breakfast!), we even had someone making Balloon animals! If you didn't make it this time, save up your pennies... the Crop 2 Help Retreat is coming up the weekend of September 25th! Be there or Be Square!
Cancer Cat update... Charm is hanging in there for the time being. His cancer is growing and he's lost a good bit of weight. We've had to move to soft food, and he's spending more and more time in his spot under the bed sleeping. I had the windows raised the other day and He and Teensy shared some window sill time together so I, of course, got some pictures. I'm really afraid our days are numbered and I'm going to be without my furry partner in crime. I am so very thankful that I had the wisdom to pick two kittens out of their combined litters when I got my fur babies, and that they have both graced our lives for 5+ years.
Bill has been attending Mason meetings for a few months now with his buddy Mike. He finally turned in his application and was accepted. He had his initiation about 3 weeks ago and is working hard on his lessons so he can test up to the next level. He's having a great time and can't wait for Thursdays to roll around so he can go to "the Lodge". :)
So, that's about it for now. Life, as usual, is hectic but good!

Still Here...
Still here at the hospital with Daddy... He's disconnected from everything, but was having problems with the post catheter voiding so we're still here. I've read my book... I've twiddled my thumbs, I've played online... Thanks for the free internet Marshall South!
And now we wait until morning... again... His pain is minimal, thanks to a dose of Lasix, voiding is now good, he's a lot more stable on his feet too now that the pain isn't so evident so I'll sit like this...

Simply Amazing
Yanno, sometimes I'm just amazed at what modern medicine can accomplish! I've been a nurse for 12+ years and I have seen/heard of quite a lot of way cool things that can be done these days. Well, Today, I was amazed again...
Some of you may already know that I've been sitting with my Daddy in the hospital this weekend. He's a young man of 82 and he tries to stay pretty active. Loves yard work, loves to piddle around with stuff and tinker with anything mechanical (comes from being a retired mechanic yanno). He also has a touch of Alzheimer's and tends to be somewhat unstable on his feet at times. I can't count the number of times I've gotten a call from my Mom saying, "Well, Your Daddy's fell in the ditch again. Came to the house covered in mud and I had to spray him off with the water hose before he came in!" Did I also mention that he's incredibly lucky? So far, he's not done any permanent damage to himself, a bump here, a bruise there, a soaked wallet, mud in his socks and no matter what we say or do, he simply will Not stay away from that ditch! Anyway, on Tuesday night, he fell... Twice... in the bathroom. Stubborn man that he is, decided that he was just "stove up" and didn't need to go to the hospital. Finally, on Friday morning, he caved, went to the ER and was admitted. Daddy doesn't do well in hospitals. Out of his element sometimes equals "out of his head", and the last time, he tried to escape multiple times. Bed alarms, staying round the clock, very little sleep and when I did try I had to sleep with one eye open or he'd get sneaky. I learned a lot about how devious he could be the last time.
Anyway, after rounds of X-Rays, CT Scans, and three days in the hospital, this morning's MRI showed something. Not one, but TWO Compression fractures in his vertebra. One in his L1 Lumbar vertebra and one at the top of his Sacrum (S1 I believe). So He had a procedure called Kyphoplasty done. Ya'll, After this seemingly simple and Way Quick procedure, Daddy's nearly pain free! Thank You Lord! It pained me soo much to see him hurting to the point that he couldn't sit, stand, lay, and especially Move without excruciating pain. Well, that was Yesterday. He sat up with ease (Read NO PAIN!) this evening, on his own no less, and ate his dinner with me. I am truly amazed! He's in such better spirits this evening, has gotten more sleep today than he's probably gotten all week long in one stretch, and is singing the praises of his procedure! Granted, tomorrow is another day, and we'll see what it brings. But for tonight, I think that he and I both may get a decent night's sleep. Umm... well, He will anyway. Can you call sleeping in a lumpy, bumpy recliner decent in any terms? LOL!
Thank You Soooo Much to those of you adding him to your prayers! I'm soo blessed to have friends like y'all! I'll post more when I know more!

Has it been 5 months already????
Wow. I guess that's what you would call a "Blog Break" huh? I've still got my christmas colors flying... Hey, at least I did try to be a little holiday-ish. No worries, I'll fix that soon enough. Throw up my springtime flowers or something equally cute and move right along. Soooo... what's been happening you ask? Wellllllllllll... let's see...
Work.... Halloween... Work... Thanksgiving... Black Friday shopping... Christmas (good times!)... New Year... Birthday... Diet... Valentine's Day... Did I mention Work?... Sitting here in the Hospital listening to daddy sleep. And that's about it. Seriously. Life... It happens... nothing terribly blog worthy. Nothing much done crafty. Nothing much accomplished lately except for, well, Life. :o)
Oh... I finally bit the bullet and opened me a Facebook account, so look me up. Be my friend. Another friend told Hubby that Facebook will suck your soul out your eyeballs. I guess we'll see. LOL! Please let me know if you notice my voice deepening or my eyes bleeding. :o)
Also... And this one is IMPORTANT! Jerri and I are doing a scrapbooking Retreat in Springville in April. Come play with us! Check it all out HERE! We're having a Croppin' Chickadee Carnival! Too much fun! JOIN US!
